Is there any program that checks you smart hard drive status, that does not slow down your computer at all?
I have noticed with the program: SMARTReporter, my first login of the day is always really slow.
I would be fine with one that runs in terminal too.

disk utility reports your S.M.A.R.T. status too, dont know how many resources it will eat up though

I would like something free, I also want something that does it automatically.
