You got a problem with this cute guy? :D

J/K, whoever came up with the idea, and subsequent TV ads should be taken out and shot... (in the kneecaps, at least...)

Can honestly say that I haven't seen a Crazy Frog since Christmas - and even then, I only saw one ad for it. I thought it had quietly become extinct already...

Alternatively, since it's summer, rather than sign the petition, why don't you just go and do something less boring instead (in the words of summer holiday television!) ;)

the frog has been flooding uk television for ages (as still is) and recently they made a "remix" of it. enough is enough.

I must be watching the wrong channels (or the right ones perhaps if I'm not seeing it). On the other hand, I'd sign a petition to get rid of all those 'in debt, have county court judgements, still want to have a Caribbean holiday and get more into debt? phone us' adverts...

those adverts are annoying, but they are easier to ignore when compared to the crazy frog.

heh, i'm slowly getting used to those ones - they come on a lot on UKGold + ITV2. thankfully when im watching tv i mainly watch bbc so i tend to avoid most ads. i know it's crel but i always laugh at the 'national accident helpline' ad where the woman falls on some food on the kitchen floor. all i have to say is LOOK WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU SILLY FOOL!

the crazy frog ads tend to come on most on vh1/mtv etc. literally every ad has one.

oh, and at the moment my favourite is the kfc ad with the women in the call centre. i cant believe people complained! that's the funniest ad i've seen on tv in ages (along with the other kfc ad with the family singing). their food may be greasy, but their ads are cool :)

I'm praying for a painful fiery death to everyone at Jamster for the effing crazy frog. On MTV it is on TWICE every single advert break. TWICE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!! I think that the BBC should refuce to give it airtime on the radio because it is just blatant advertising and of no artistic value at all.....mind you, I guess a lot of what's in the charts is like that too. It really is just spam for telly though isn't it.

I have to agree with Applespider on the personal loan and injury lawyer type ads too. They suck big time. The injury ones in particular just encourage people to lie for some cash. I currently have an insurance claim outstanding for a car accident I had two years ago because of one of these bastard companies. In a lapse of concentration I rear ended someone at a roundabout whilst doing 20mph and now they are claiming compensation because....and I kid you not here....they are suffering from nightmares and flashbacks of the accident and are too nervous to drive......20mph.......2 year ago......LIAR!

I actually think the frog is well animated (and quite funny, in spite of myself), so I don't think the creator should be beaten or nowt. But the adverts are completely evil, and always twice the volume of anything else, they are on so often on the music channels, so they are SO IRRITATING! See, they made me shout, and that's not good.

Does a computer animated frog really need to have a wang?Well, real frogs don't have them of course. But then real frogs don't wear bikers gear or inflict horrible ringtones on the public so it's a bit of a moot point really.

You can't stop this thing. Don't even bother trying... :(

If you watch certain TV channels, primarily the music ones, each and every advert break will have a Crazy Frog ringtone advert in it (in amongst other ringtone adverts).

Along with every other annoying ringtone advert in history, they'll play the most annoying part of the song at high volume accompanied by a crazed voice shouting 'Dial xxx for Nokia, Dial xxx for Ericcson, Dial xxx for Samsung' etc.

Since a key component of the crazy frog is a high-pitched motorcycle sound, it's intensely irritating and goes through the skull like a knife through butter.

I'm reminded of the updated HHGTTG segment (from BBC 4) which suggests (paraphrasing) that rather than finding digital watches quite neat, humans now find customisable ringtones pretty neat but are all still miserable, even those who set their phones to vibrate. ;)

Weirdness - here in the states I've never seen an ad for Ringtones....and I didn't think they're all the interesting or useful to begin with. I have the standard one on mine. The only custom one I've ever heard that I like is the retro phone ring - way back when you actually had a bell and clapper in the phone.

I watched a little G4TV for their E3 coverage, and every break had at least one ringtone ad, usually selling obnoxious (as opposed to good) rap tunes, 3 for $5.99. I imagine the ads were placed by Comcast Cable for the Baltimore/DC/Philly metro market I am smack in the middle of.

If these Crazy Frog ad's are anything like the ringtone ads I saw on G4TV, I understand why our European friends hate them, and also why Chavs are gulping them down like they're going outta style.

aaargh...i cant even come here to escape the damned thing!

it was fine when the adverts were on music channels - i only ever watched them at the gym, but now they are on every channel, ALL THE BLOODY TIME, nothing like degrading a channel - mobile phone ringtones, loans and no win no bloody fee adverts.

i think i'm going to become a hermit to escape it all.

All this frog stuff is quite surreal to me. I've heard all the complaints and moaning about the noise, seen the adverts, reeled in horror at the fact it's going to be no.1 in the singles chart. However, I've never heard it on a ringtone. ever. And I work for a phone company.

Does this mean I've got a built in frog-filter?

Nope, it's a video clip. Safari will load it as text, but after it's loaded do a Save As and save the file to your computer. It will ask you if you want to add ".txt" to the end of the file name, say no. Then just open the file in QuickTime, it played for me just fine.

Believe me, it's safer not seeing the ad.

Here's part of the music video (http://www.gm.tv/index.cfm?articleid=14712&cachedarticleaction=streamingpopup) imagine the annoying ding-ding-dididing frog bit repeated 2-3 times in every ad break while the numbers for you to text to download it are shouted out. And switching channels to see the same thing...

Thank goodness for the ad-free BBC! :D
