Orbit or Marble Mouse?

I want to get a trackball for my laptop when it is at home. I'm trying to desice between the Kensington Orbit, and the Logitech Marble Mouse. Any opinions? (I use a Kensington Trackball Turbo on my studio computer)

Duff-Man says....the most important thing when it comes to choosing a mouse or trackball (especially trackballs) is try them out and see what feels most comfortable for *you* - not anyone else here. The only other comment I would make is that Kensington's Mac software/drivers is much better than Logitech's......oh yeah!

I have two of the Logitech Marble Mouse and appreciate them more every day.

Every Kensington Orbit I've tried seems difficult to use and not anything like the Turbo Mouse Kensington makes.

Thanks. I'm obviously going to try them out for comfort, but I guess my question abouve should have been more specific. Is either more compatable with Mac's? Any problems using either with a Mac?

Duff-Man says....either should work just fine with your Mac but as I said, Kensington's software is better than Logitech's (although it is getting a little better). If you decide you like the Logitech one but are not satisfied with the drivers and software you can always use USB Overdrive - which is what I use with my Logitech MX500 mouse....oh yeah!

I have a marble mouse thats about 2.5 years old and going as strong as the day it was new.

logitech offers better value and longer life than many other companies.

My original Kensington Turbo Mouse is OVER 10 years old and, other than giving it a regular cleaning & general "blow-out" has NEVER given me a bit of trouble. And the software supplied is far superior to the Logitech software included with the Trackman Marble.

Plus, when you think about it, the Kensington trackballs are 2x larger in diameter than the Logitech marbles which means you actually have to put LESS finger movement into the Kensington trackballs than the Logitech Marbles to achieve the same distance movements.

But hey - each to his own level of comfort.

Everything else being equal, I prefer the larger trackball as well: better control for me and is more comfortable to rest my hand on.
