iPod touch question about older iPod touch

hi, i have an older iPod touch i think its a Gen 1 or 2.

i only use it in my car, to listen to music. it has firmware 4.2.1
i want to jailbreak it.

i am on a macbook pro.

how do i go about jail breaking it?

I think you might, not a 100% sure but maybe on the ipod go to jailbreakme.com and if it shows a "FREE" on top right corner or slide to jailbreak than you can just do that or for your version go to greenp0ison.com

Maybe you an also try to use RedSn0w, I always use it to jailbreak my iPod Touch.
