Hello, I've got a MacBook 2,1 (4Gb of RAM) running OSX 10.4.11, want to upgrade to Lion I've purchased for my iMac Late09.
put the dmg file onto an USB stick (initialized with disk utility) and plug into my MB
When I try to upgrade system says "Mac OS X cannot be installed on "Macintosh HD."
Startup disk is in GUID.
The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.
It's frustrating. I try to upgrade to SL but it's the same thing...:(:(
How can I solve the problem?

You can't upgrade from Tiger or Leopard to Lion. You must do a clean install.

Ok, so if I want to upgrade I must upgrade from Tiger to Leopard then to SL the to Lion....?????
It's a bad thing...I will do a TM backup and then a clean install, i have only Lion distro from AS. Thanks a lot!

Then your startup disc likely has problems. To upgrade to anything, you'll have to wipe and reinstall fresh.
