do you see the problem?
what can i do? is it possible to store my data (music) on an external drive and sync my iphone with that?
also, can i diasable iphone's backup, or make it backup on an external drive instead of my ssd?

Yes, i believe it's possible. Just point itunes to your music folder on external drive.

Strange title for the post.

Well, it's a little weird apple released laptops with so little memory.
I mean there are iphones with 64gb...
If you have an 64gb iphone with a 64gb mba... It's impossible actually.
Anyway, on topic: Can I change the backup path to an external?

I'm not sure if you can change the backup path, but as I recall the backup isn't that large. It does not back up everything on your phone - music, etc. Depending on the version of ios that you use, you may be able to use icloud to backup the device
