safe to dock iphone in a slanty upright clock w/ no backing or adapter?

title pretty much says it all. i have a clock by my bed with a dock that has held my nano in the past. now the nano is gone, but i don't have a 4s adapter for the dock hole. it would just be sitting there, ideally in its ngp case.

I have been docking my iPhones like this for a few years. I say go for it.

Have a Sony clock with dock that does the same and no problems.

yep I done in with my Jenson radio for a couple years. as long as you don't punch it while docked your good.
