MacBook 4,1 not playing nice with mixed N and G

So this seems a little odd to me. If i have my router outputing a mixed N and G network all my computer will work with it with the exception of my macbook. The MacBook will connect okay but always time out when it loads a new web page same thing will happen if I try to run any software updates. If its putting out just N or just G it will connect with no issue, and load up new web pages with no issue.

Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a fix for it cause I cant find anything on this one.

Happens no matter what brand I'm using. At home I'm using a Belkin, took it to work where they have a linksys set up and the same thing happens.
