Compress iMovie file to fit DVD

I have an iMovie file that i want to back up and put on a dvd. The file is 14gb so obviously i cant fit it on a 4gb dvd disc. Is there anyway i can compress that file or cut it in half and make several dvd discs with the information on it?
 
delete any clips you are not using and empty your trash. this will reduce it some. i am not sure if this will reduce it enought. if not, i am sure somebody will post soon.
 
Well 14gigs is alot to compress so I would make a few dvds. If you have a DL burner you could make two dvds, if not then find areas in that 14gigs that you don't mind splitting up and make well...four dvds.
Okay now do you have (more like know anyone) DVD studio pro? that might compress it some to fit three dvds. Another way split it in half and use DVD2oneX to compress the separate 7gigs to 4.3gigs thus being able to burn it on two dvds.
