Sometimes when I wake my macbook from sleep, it makes that hard drive noise. That clicking sound that comes on when you turn on your computer or when it restarts from an update. Why does this happen randomly?

Dont you mean the optical drive noise? If so, it happens sometimes, specially if its sleep on battery and you plugged back in the power cord
