I've always said it (and heard it said) as pack-erd, not pack-ard
as the fellow in the movie pronounces it.

The emphasis is a little strong on the last syllable but that's most likely the way the company itself pronounces it in the UK.

If you're bringing this to our attention because you think it's funny, it's not.

hm i normally only say "HP" (in german at least)

when completly spoken out i think i use "ard" in the end as well but i'm not sure (because i mostly use HP)
