Is anyone experiencing heat problems when opening up microsoft 2011 powerpoint? I opened a powerpoint file and just by going through it or through slideshows causes the cpu to heat up to 85-94 C degrees, could feel the heat when i touch the upper left keyboard. I checked the cpu usage in activity monitor and it uses about 25% cpu. And on istat the fan speed still stays at 1999 even when the temperature is that high.

I'm using a 13 inch 2011 mba i5 and toshiba 128 ssd.

If the PP is large or has a lot of effects this is to be expected.

The ppt is 6.7 mb, doesn't really have a lot of effects or pictures in it though. Even leaving it idle on one slide (not in a slideshow), just for reading, increases the cpu heat.

Install Fan Control and set the fans to spin up when temps are high.
At 90C the fans should be at 5k rpm.

I have the same problem as well with a rev.c I think it may be specific with 2011. When I use the 2008 version to open the same exact powerpoint files it runs drastically cooler and quieter.
