Apple refurbs are a great deal. For iPads, the battery is brand-new, the outer shell is brand-new, the internals are not quite new but have probably been tested more than new, and you get the full one year warranty.

That $419 entry point for iPad 2 is great, even if they’re not always in stock.

I bought a refurb iPad two days ago. Should I call Apple to see if I can get the discounted price?

Tbh, I was kind of hoping that they would have refurbished iPad1 available. Not going to happen?

Well, it pulled back in to port. They've had a decent selection of first-gen iPads until relatively recently. In fact, there's one in there right now, at least in the US refurb store.

Not true. I visit the refurb store every day and routinely see different iPad (original) models available in both WiFi and 3G.

Micro Center is selling NEW iPad 2 models at $50 off their 'regular' prices.

This was first announced sometime in November. I saw why when I consulted Apple for iPads and saw iPad 3 is soon to be released.
