How do I install OS on a blank HD?

I have a Mac Pro running on 10.6.8 and just installed a OWC SSD HD for use as a second boot up HD. For now I plan on installing Snow Leopard but will eventually go to Lion.
But for now I'd like to install 10.6 (have the disk) on the SSD.
Can someone tell me how?
