How do I use my .mac address?

Firstly I would like to apologize if this is in the wrong forum. If so, mods please move it to the right place.

Now.. I just found out I had a .mac address. But I remember reading somewhere Apple stopped allowing people to make new .mac addresses.

Where can i use my .mac address and how do i sign in? I've been using hotmail, and then gmail.. I'd like to use my @mac.com address please!

Have you tried just adding it as an account in Mail.app? It should auto-configure most of the settings.

I got mine to work by using the @mac address to sign into iCloud.

If you've already signed into iCloud using your @me address - Then you can signout and sign back in and it should work fine!

I use the @mac address on my iPhone and Mac and it works fine!

Remember, any email going to either the @mac or @me address will be received however you set it up! :D
