Good read,
fortunately I listen only to small name podcasts from small producers for my normal content, and I normally can't stand normal on air radio content.
For the one on air radio show I do like to listen to (a NON clearchannel station), I have scheduled a digital recording of an AM radio program that I put onto my ipod every day. I do this so I can listen to it at work ( I work nights).
I can imagine that when Clearchannel and other large media giants start releasing podcasts, they will do something similar. I am not talking about how they do it, but simply stating that their podcasts will most likely be recorded versions of normal aired radio shows, put on the web for download by podcast listeners.
I hope that nothing bad comes from this, as clearchannel has a 2/3 monopoly in my city (Minneapolis / St. Paul) and I don't want companies like that to get power to squash small private podcasts. Because of the clearchannel monopoly in my city, almost ALL of the radio stations sound the same, play the same music, and have the same annoying ads.
Real podcasts, and AM radio are the only salvation. The biggest thing that I would love to hear on a podcast, are some of the local College radio stations. The last TRUE radio in my home town!

I only listen to a few podcasts. All (excluding Coast to Coast AM) are music related, and all play "indie" music, so copyright issues really don't apply since smaller, unknown bands need the exposure.
The best show I've come across is Old Wave Radio. It's great stuff, check it out:
