Ok, So I have read a lot about how iTunes Match works etc.
My question is does any one know for sure if it uses meta data, or wave analyses ect for Matching

If say I have 50% of my library with absolutely no tags what so ever (all untitled unnamed etc) will match work? - And thus give me all the appropriate titles and names from the cloud?

I had a bunch of files from a first-gen ipod that didn't have any metadata whatsoever. Most of these were matched, so it must do some sort of actual waveform analysis similar to Soundhound. However, when files are matched, they retain your old metadata..it doesn't replace that. That said, someone posted a ruby script that would allow you to have iTunes replace any matched songs' metadata with the song that it matched to in the store. HERE is that thread. See #9.
