Heres what I did:

PixelGirlPresents in the Nature section called FresHGrass. I then Croped it to the size I wanted. Set backround color to grey, and set wallpaper to center.

Here is the croped file.

I can forward you the email if you want as it was sent to my girlfriend (she's from Brisbane). Got several shots of the ground too. I had to ask if that pic was real as I could NOT believe it. Amazingly it is.

PM me and I'll forward it over.

how do i get to under the file size but stay at 1024x768Using Preview: Try and error with saving to jpeg in about medium quality (damn Apple for removing the target size option in Preview 3 in Tiger).

Using Photoshop: Save for the web and use the quality setting (but since Photoshop then tells you how big the resulting file will be it's much easier than using Preview).

Other apps should have similar options... ;)

@MOFS, Gorillaz with a Gene Simmons kinda flava (KISS). Just wondering what was the name of their video with them driving a dune buggy, can remember the track name?

By large do u mean file size or the actual image.
If its file a size a simple way is command shift 3, then it will save it to the desktop, open in it preview - go to save as jpeg and their a slider on the bottom of the window to lower the quality to make it smaller in size...

If you do mean file size, do as stated above but keep the slider all the way to the quality side of things, then select Target Size and input either 96000 or 102400 (I have found those two to work well for getting them to attach in MR) and joila, you have it. If you lower the quality slider, the image looks quite horrid IMO.

Awesome desktop puckhead193. :D

Probably one of the silliest lawn ornaments ever - a gazing ball. I hate the damn things and wouldn't have one in my yard.

But this was at an arts festival in town and the artist had welded a bunch of steel in very interesting ways along with other sculptures without gazing balls.

This one was quite cool in the way it reflected the rusted steel and clouds in the sky.

In Finder (click on the Desktop and then) choose the View menu -> Show View Options (cmd-J) to get view options for Desktop. There's a radiobutton for placing the labels and some checkboxes for more options like Show item info...

I'm currently rotating between blurry out of focus photos from the keynote yesterday. This one doesn't look half bad out of focus.

I was planning on making the switch this summer or fall, but now it looks like I'm gonna have to wait a whole year.... maybe I'll buy a Mini.... I'm not gonna spend more money than that though.... maybe an iBook instead since I don't own a portable.... No more product updates for the rest of the year? Maybe I should save my money...

No one ever said no more product updates for the rest of the year, actually there are many who think they are coming sooner than later. If you need/want a Mac, now is a fine time to buy one. It will not be out of date in a month or a year. There are changes in the works, sure, but it IS NOT the end of the world so just buy the iBook and love it, and in two years, sell it and buy the iBook with the *gasp* "Intel Inside" (hopefully w/o sticker) :)

It's at Deviantart (http://browse.deviantart.com/wallpaper/dark/) You can get it in almost any resolution. Just select wallpaper and then your screen res. Then under submitted on the right side select any time & top favourites. It'll be the first wallpaper. I could link you directly to it if i knew your screen res. I'm only using 1024x768.

That's that powerbooks keyboard with the backlight on. It would be cool though if the next desktop apple keyboard had a backlight.
