Been having trouble getting a straight answer. Can you play hulu (or hulu plus) on ATV 2 either via AirPlay and iPad 2 or via a plugin on jb ATV 2. ?

When playing a Hulu+ video on your iPad, you will not get an AirPlay icon, as you do with YouTube videos. The only way to AirPlay it to your TV is by enabling the Mirroring option on your iPad 2. However, you won't get full screen playback and the quality is average to poor. But technically, yes, it can be done.
I'm not jail broken on any of my devices, so I don't know what other options are out there, regarding Hulu.
Also, it is rumored that AirPlay Mirroring will come to Lion (as well as iMessage -- allegedly). Being able to Mirror your Mac to your TV will obviously make a huge difference.

Definitely doable via Jailbreak of the ATV2, but you will then have to do an ssh implant of a repository. If you are not up on that, you will need to run some more searches. Frankly, I think that Icefilms and Navi-X are better than Hulu, although I have never used Hulu Plus.

if you JB your ATV2 you can have HULU by using XBMC on your ATV2. You need a windows PC running "PlayOn" which will talk to XBMX on your ATV2.
If all you have is a MAC just use Parallels or VMware fusion to run windows and play on in the background.

I don't believe HULU works on XBMC anymore, bluecop used to find new workarounds as HULU blocked various ways he accessed the site, but I remember awhile back I thought I read he gave up on doing that as it was just too much of a hassle.
But as TomH suggested if your going to bother putting XBMC on it just install icefilms it has pretty much everything.
Actually, this is incorrect. The Bluecop repo has been updated and Hulu is currently working just fine with XBMC and in fact is really the best option for anyone with an ATV2 who wants some Hulu action.
Well I stand corrected and am glad to hear that, I gave up on trying it because it stopped working for awhile. It was my favorite plugin.
