Does anyone use it? What do you use it for? I use Firewire 400, but I don't have anything that can hook up to firewire 800. Unfortunately, you can't plug devices into both of them, like with USB and USB 2.
Anyway, I'm just wondering what's out there. When I got my old Mac, I had no idea what Firewire 400 even was . . . . and then the original iPod came out. I'm sure you can imagine the rest.

I use Firewire 800 for my Lacie drives, makes them incredibly responsive.

I also use it for external storage. it was faster by far than the internal drive in my powerbook, and it is roughly the same speed as internal in my G5 (though a bit slower at writing)
