Ipod socks

the 1st generation minis larger or heavier than the 2nd generation? Do the ipod socks fit tightly over the minis?

I've just purchased 2G 4GB minis for my sister and fiance...they fit in the socks quite nicely, even with the iTrip mini attached :D
