Hi all

I've got apple TV & gradually moved all my DVD's onto it, trouble is I bought a 1TB hard drive & it's almost full.

Is it possible to move the music from my hard-drive back onto my imac & just leave the films where they are on the hard drive.

The next question is, if it is how do I do it!!

Thanks

Yes, just uncheck the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" option, this means you can now add media from any drive without iTunes trying to move it to your library folder which I assume you've got set as your external drive.

Simple instructions:-

1. Go into iTunes Advanced Preferences and uncheck the option as above.
2. In iTunes select all your music and delete it from the library, DO NOT DELETE THE ACTUAL FILES FROM THE DRIVE IF IT ASKS YOU TO.
3. Copy all you music files from your external drive to your internal drive.
4. Drag and drop all the music files from your internal drive into iTunes to add them back to the library.
