I have a macbook pro that is about a year old and currently running snow leopard. I've been using parallels 5 with windows xp pro and just upgraded to parallels 7 today. I would like to upgrade now to lion as well. Are there any incompatibility issues that I'm going to have to deal with? Also, I'm wondering if I will have to re-authorize my copy of windows after I upgrade to lion.
Any thoughts?

I don't think you will have many issues. Just make sure that you update all of your software to the latest version. As far as I know your parallels windows should not be affected.
The update to lion went pretty smooth on my mbp and Mac Pro.
I found this thread very helpful for getting rid of some new features I didn't like:

Good luck! :-)
