Hi all,

I recently spilt some water over my Early 2011 Macbook Pro i7 8gb Lion. The battery was fried and the Macbook Pro was running fine off the charger; after a complete strip down and dry.

I have replaced the magsafe port and have installed a new battery. The battery is charging except my HDD is damaged.

I have tried to use Macdrive to repair it, but it states the drive needs to be formatted. I am looking at installing a Vertex 3 but have a problem. The Macbook Pro will not boot into recovery, so I cant use the internet to reinstall Lion to the new SSD.

What advice can you give? How can I get Lion (Shipped with Macbook Pro) to my new SSD???

When I plug the power pack in to charge the battery, the mac automatically starts and from there I will not let me restart; and the following will not work.

I have tried to restart it using Command – R, but it hangs at the apple logo.
I have tried holding Option, but nothing happens
Thanks, Chri

What happens when you insert the SSD, then boot whilst holding option down? Does the Lion internet recovery show?
