I have a QS 2002 733, using it for audio and graphics work- extra PCI monitor card, drive, ram, Tiger, etc. I saved about $900, and am trying to decided, in view of Apple's announcement to go to intel to get a G5 tower or upgrade mine. I'm not sure what I could get for my QS. Plus the hassle of moving a bunch of apps over. So this invites a few questions- what would be a good route to take- get a G5, or UG mine?
On the subject of UG, I am looking for a dual processor to drop in. And maybe an AGP vid card that will push two monitors for static graphic work. Anyone have one F/S?

While this isn't the right forum for this question, I would say upgrade your system just enough to keep you going for about 18 months. Then look at where the Macs are in terms of Intel and PPC products (I would guess that the PMs will go to Intel last, and you'll be able to get a PPC one then if you want it still). If you decide that you want to keep with a PPC system, grab the last round of PPC PowerMacs. If it looks like the lower end Intel machines are shaping up to be faster, cheaper, and the software is transitioning nicely, then make the jump to that platform when it's available.

The bottom line of the post was a WTB- AGP vid card / dual processor for QS or maybe an affordable G5

I bought one for my Quicksilver (which was a 733 when i originally got it)
I also bought a ATI Radeon 9600 from Macsales.com for $119.00, so I'm good to go until 06/07 :D

I upgraded my Qwoosh '01 to the hilt. I did it over time (cheaper/less painful that way) and it's running quite nicely. What was originally an 867MHz is now a 1.25GB RAM, dual 1.4GHz (GigaDesign), nVidia GeForce 4 Ti (128MB), Pioneer DVR-108, extra ATA6 card, +2 120GB Seagate drives.
I'm quite happy with it's speed and it'll definitely last me until '07.
