I need to reformat my hard drive, but I am wondering what will happen to all my apps that appear in i tunes. Once the drive is "fresh" with Lion installed, when i log in to i tunes, will my apps still be there? I have backed up my iphone 4s to icloud.
Thanks in advance.

Back up your iTunes library first. Otherwise your iPhone will recognise it as a 'new' computer, and it won't sync with it. Then you have to restore your phone too, and you'll lose all your data from that. (If you backup to iCloud at least you can restore the phone, but as it is I think you'll just lose all your contacts, music, saved games, the lot!)

Apart from that, yeah your app purchases are linked to your iTunes account, so you can just log in and re-download them.

Back up to where

thanks for the response. Where should I back up my itunes library to? Do you mean backing it up to icloud or to an external hard drive?
