Hi, I'm having some very frustrating problems when scanning documents.
As the title shows, I have an iBook G4 laptop, which is connected to my HP LaserJet CM2320nf MFP printer.
The problems I have are with respect to scanning multiple page documents into one pdf file. When I insert a multiple page document into the automatic document feeder of my printer, the HP Director dialog box opens and allows several scanning options; the two I use are "Scan" and "Scan to Folder".
Specifically, my problems are:
1) If I press "Scan", the printer will scan all of the pages, but, when I press save, they are saved as individual pages and I have no idea as to how to merge them into one document.
2) If I press "Scan to Folder", the printer will scan all of the pages and save them in one pdf file, but, when I open the pdf file in Preview and go to print it, it crops the top three inches of each page. Note that, when in Preview, I can see the whole page of each document; it is only when I press print and the preview of each page is shown that the cropping occurs.
Does anyone have any experience troubleshooting my problems? I have a hard time believing that there is a problem with either my laptop or my printer because it seems hard to believe that a company (Apple or HP, I don't know which) would allow such a glaring shortcoming to occur.
Ideally, I would like to use the "Scan" option (and not "Scan to Folder") because it allows me to adjust the pages of the document before I save it, but, as I said, it saves each page as an individual file and I can't merge them.
What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Well, after some tinkering, I found a solution to my problem; it seems that saving a multiple page document (when using "Scan" and not "Scan to Folder") as a jpeg file will create a file for each page, but saving it as a pdf file will create only one file with all pages in that file.
