Comment: A lot of people labeled this band as a New Order/Joy Division rip-off, but they were so much more. If you're a fan of either of those bands, you'll love the Wake. Not to be confused with the 90's goth band. This is an absolutely beautiful song.

Good catch. A lot of The Wake's music very concisely foresaw the wave of indie-pop bands that came up 10+ years behind them. Caesar is a too often-overlooked genius of 80's pop, though everyone knows who his then-bandmate Bobby Gillespie is by now.

Thanks again to Le Temps Modernes for making a deal with iTMS!

Sometimes you have to wonder if Bobby made a deal with the devil (or the Kennedys). It seems everything thing he touches turns to gold. Not literally gold as in gold records, but just amazing.
