Gmail Doesn't Work w/ Mail...Screenshots Included & Help is Truly Freakin Appreciated

Gmail doesn't work well with Lion; at least not with me.

I've had to migrate to Sparrow, of which does a subpar job. My situation isn't that complicated and (secretly) hope to imagine i'm not the only one in such a situation.

Mail won't let me add my Gmail account.

I need this.

Please.

Make sure that in the GMail settings, IMAP is enabled.

That is unusual. I've never had any problems with Mail and Gmail. Try what chrf097 said. It should fix your problem.

Stick with Sparrow it's much better than Lion's mail for Gmail.. and a much cleaner interface.....

Agree somewhat but another alternative is Thunderbird which is free. Still, setting up gmail with mail.app shouldn't be even mildly painful. Google has setup help available that removes all doubts about how to set it up.
