Hi Guys and Gals,

I have been working on a project recently which involves recording a song to both Pro Tools and an iPad DAW using the same performance and environment. I have mixed the same song within both of these mediums and I've attached the results to this post.

If anyone has a spare moment it would be great if I could get some feedback on each mix in a comparative sense. To make things easy it would be great if any listeners could adhere to the following scaling system:

Clarity? 1-10 (1 = muddy like lollapalooza, 10 = clear like Bjork's drinking water)

Tonal quality? 1-10 (1 = tonally dead, 10 = even frequency placement)

Stereo Field? 1-10 (1 = no definition, 10 = each instrument sits well)

and finally which mix sounds better? (extra opinions welcome). Thanks in advance for having a listen! iPad version was mixed on http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/multitrack-daw/id329322101?mt=8

PS. As there was an eight track limit using the iPad, instrumentation slightly differs from Pro Tools version.

Clarity? 6.5

Tonal quality? 7

Stereo Field? 4

The violin is a tad high in the mix for my taste, in comparison to the excellent vocals...also I would add a touch of reverb on the violins and I mean just a touch! No separation between mandolin and other stringed instruments (no spacial definition)

and finally which mix sounds better? Sonically, I liked the iPad sound clarity better.

Hi rythmac thanks a lot for your input, but I just need to know which mix you are talking about in your post? Thanks a bunch :)
