macOS Has anyone thought of iMessage for iChat?

With Lion, apple introduced iChat service plugins. If we could get a look at the way that iMessage is implemented in the iOS 5 source code, doesn't it follow that we could write a working service plugin for iChat?

There's nothing to say that they aren't or aren't already working on a separate application like FaceTime but as a programmer I don't see the point in waiting on them if it could be implemented other ways.

And you think you can get your hands on source code from iOS 5 to get you started?
