Sometimes it is the youngest kids who understand the simpleist of things. If your going to promote something MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH IN STOCK!!!. on the other hand Apple did have 2,000,000 iPod Shuffles pre manufactured to meet the expected demand. Sometimes life just sux I guess.

That was a rather bizarre article..and rather dated? Somewhat on topic for those who read the article, the big headline is that the kid refers to the iPod Shuffle not being available as "retarded." I know this seems pedantic, but I feel people need to be aware that retarded is a fine word, but not when used inappropriately. Retarded can describe someone's physical or mental capacities, but when we extrapolate it to things we are trying to denigrate, we are indirectly denigrating those who suffer with retardation. I feel passionately about this because of the way the word gay was used by classmates and even teachers in my high school. I didn't have the courage or wordpower to tell them they were being rude at the time. But now, I like to point out what is most likely not bad intent, just behavior that is not mindful enough of those around us.

Okay, as pointed out, we are talking about something that happened almost half a year ago when it was first unveiled in January! Why exactly is this news?
Plus, it's called supply and demand. Sometimes companies fail to have enough adequate supply. Sure, it's "retarded". Deal with it. This reporter acts like his 11-year-old was entitled to get an iPod shuffle that day. There were plenty of other people in the same situation who wanted one and didn't get one.
Wah.
[EDIT: Is it possible the MacBytes submitter was the one who didn't realize that this was from half a year ago? I don't see any date on that page, and when I go to the main page of that website, I don't see the article mentioned anywhere. It seems that MacBytes is in error, not the author. But that doesn't make it a good article.]
