would buying a DVI cable for my monitor make much of an improvement?

On my 1080p monitor, using DisplayPort (digital, like DVI) makes a big difference compared to VGA. Text just looks a bit fuzzy when using VGA but it's perfectly sharp when using DP. I definitely wouldn't want to go back to using VGA.

Some people say it only makes a difference at high resolutions, so I'm not sure about 1680x1050 vs 1920*1080. But whatever, a DVI cable is £2 so why not?
