8GB Ram for current base model 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5

Hi there, just wondering whether either of these would be a decent 8GB RAM upgrade for my Mac Mini, I'm only a student at the moment, hence the cheapest RAM, but whats the difference between expensive and cheap ram as well?

I've used them for my MacBook Pro memory.

As for your expensive/cheap RAM, depends on the timings mostly. More expensive RAM has better timings (reduce latency etc) and is therefore faster and quicker.

By quicker and faster, you mean less than 10% and probably more like 5% in memory intensive tasks only.

I went direct to Crucial's website, it was $44.99 for 8GB which is 2-4GB Sticks, and it works perfectly on my 2.3 Base mini

I went this way for support and knowing Crucial is a reliable company, I have used their ram in all my Mac products and never had an issue.
