Hello,

I want to achieve a similar effect to the attached file for a portrait of somebody.

Can somebody give me any advice on how to do this?
I have the portrait, i was thinking of making a high contrast version of the portrait then putting the text on top, then cutting around the text.

My question is how can i bend or curve the text, like you see in the attachment under the eyelids for example.
Thanks for all and any help.

*I couldnt attach the file, so instead its the first one you see on this link-http://sixrevisions.com/design-showcase-inspiration/30-creative-typography-art/*

To do this all your doing is creating curves along the face. Once you have some curves drawn you use the type on path tool and you have the type running along the contours (or curves) of the face. Change size of text to determine the scale of the curve on the face. It is actually pretty easy but time consuming. There are also lots of tutorials on how to accomplish this.

Thanks, thats a good start but not quite what im looking for. Im more about using less wods and having them curve to define the face, like below.

Okay that sounds like what im looking for. When you say there are lots of tutorials, you mean on how to use curves, or using curves for the text to follow? Cuz im only finding tuts on how to make curves, think you can share a link please?

Thanks for the responses.

A simple google search for Typographic Portrait Tutorial pulled up lots of them.

Basically if you can make paths or curves going with the contour of the face then you are half way there. Just switch to the type on path tool and start creating the portrait out of text. :D
