So I have a Rev A, Dual 1.8 G5, never had a problem with it ever, a few growing pain KPs, but nothing too serious. I recently came back from college and moved back into my bedroom, and after a through cleaning with some Endust, I noticed that the fans became loud. I ran some temperature checks and it said that the HD bays are at 34.5? C. I am not sure what this is supposed to be normally, but it seems awfully hot. I have had dual HDs in there for about a whole year, and never experienced heat issues.

I made sure that the G5 has a clean airflow, I put it on a metal rack, and there is about six inches from the G5 to the wall. My house has AC, and is usually between 65-75 degrees depending on the time of day. I just don't know why the fans would suddenly become loud after 30 minutes of use, no matter what the task. I turned on energy saver, just to see if it made a difference, and I saw little, if any. Any ideas? This is really frustrating.

thanks in advance!

-Justin

EDIT-
I had to move my G5 again, and it was unplugged, so I guess that reset the SMU and my problems went away.
