I'm looking for a dash cam and any of the decent one's I see aren't compatible with OS X.. is it easy to make windows only programs work on OS X?

Also, if any of you use or have used a dash cam, which one would you recommend?

I've also looked into the itronics camera, and it appears that only the initial setup requires a PC, but the video files should still work fine with a Mac.

I am using those from China and it takes 1080p in avi format. It saves in SD card and i just put it in my MBP's card reader and transfer it there. It's will automatically delete the first file (video) when your SD card is full.

Ok, I'm curious. Why would you use a dash cam in your personal car?

Depending on the legal situation in your area (which you should def. check out, if you're unsure) a video record can prove you weren't liable for an accident.
Especially in some countries, where deliberately causing an accident is a common scam.

Interesting. Thanks.

I have toyed with the idea of having a cam in the car too, but pointing the other way.

When you deal with the public, you soon find that some people have "issues".

If I lived in the Litigious States of America, I most certainly would have one. 😉
