Unfortunately, for many people it does seem to be all about the avatar. Thankfully we have excellent Mods who delete spam from people simply trying to up their post count.
As I've said before, if a person's biggest concern and highest priority is reaching 500 posts to get a little picture under their name, then they're here for completely the wrong reasons.

There are only a few a year who actually abuse posting by spamming to 500. And actually, its not always the mods who notice first - many a reported post is from the members themselves :D

That's good to hear, I'm glad it's such a low number. And yes, we have some good "policemen" here to assist the Mods - I'd like to think I'm one of them as well, hopefully I don't bug you guys too much with my reports! ;)

Nah, the more posts that are reported, the more chance the rest of us stand of actually beating edesignuk to a bit of mod-work... :D :D
Keep watching, spam is everywhere. :p

Remember, one word posts like "ok" or saying simple things like "I agree" without going any further will be considered spam and the posts will be deleted. We're here to help each other and things like that don't help anyone. They just create more work.

Yeah, I've noticed that in the evenings (which are morning over there). Most of the time while I'm here, e's asleep. And then when mod reports come in, I often trip over Dr Q

Hey, thanks for the quick links tip to get to my profile. Before I was always trying to hunt down one of my posts to click on my name so I could find my post count. That is much faster :p .

so how do you report spam posts?
i would link to think of myself as a sort of more established member and poster on here now. i would like to help all of you get rid of the spam on these boards. so do you just send a PM to a mod with the thread link or what

so how do you report spam posts?
It's the little red and white triangle next to the online status dot and under the username in each members post (on the left). :)

Just make sure it's legit - otherwise the Mods might get annoyed receiving tons of reports from you, and consider you to be the one spamming. ;)
