So since I installed Lion I've been using File Vault to encrypt my drive. Now I want to go ahead and partition out a chunk of the drive and play around with some Linux installs. Will file vault give me problems with this? if I carve out a partition will it decrypt the 20 or so GB I'll take or no?

Hi,

I would like to know this too.
I repartitioned my SSD to spare some space. Now I got 20GB free disk space.
The bootup needs a workaround now - I have to press 'alt' to get the boot menue. If I don't press it I get 'No boot medium found'.

It was bold, because I rely on my Mac the next couple of days. :)
I would like to install Linux Mint on the Bootcamp device.
