I have since November my Macbook Pro 17'' Early 2011, and i updated to Lion (this model came with SL). After a few months i miss SL because of the difference in performance, rosetta for older apps and the possibility to use the older Expose again (also i have some issues with games that i didn't had in SL).

The problem is that i want to do a backup with Time Machine on my external HDD so i can go back to SL without problems, but i saw that there are some problems doing this. I was considering to recover from an HDD and not the TM option when i reinstall SL, i dont know if this could work to avoid the problems.

The main issue is that they are approx. 100gb of files (including apps, documents and music), and for example some of them are blocked with my hosts file, i dont want to reinstall everything since 0 and edit again that file.. also i dont have the install files for them right now if i want anyway. Someone knows how i can downgrade without the risk to lose data and configs?

Greetings
