American MBP can't see ch 12 and 13

I have an American Macbook Pro 8.1 which i'm using in germany.
Since the FCC forbids the usage of the channels 12 and 13 in America I can't see any networks which operate on ch 12 and 13.
I don't want do limit my router to the channels 1-10 because there are a lot of networks in my neighborhood and i would like to avoid using the same ch as sb else.
Is there a software fix for this?

Not possible without updating the firmware of the wireless card. I'm not sure how you'd do that, but odds are using channels 1-10 will be fine for you despite other wireless networks in the area using those channels.
