I still want a Dog Cow tattoo somewhere. It's too bad they phased him and the happy Mac out -- so cuuute. I have happy and sad Mac stickers on my car, but a Dog Cow would be ideal!

Clarus is a girl... Actually, she's still making an appearance in the Mac basic section of Apple support (http://www.apple.com/support/mac101). It's Clarus's Mac that you work your way around and her address book, complete with picture. Made me smile when I first saw it.

Whoa, you're right! This is awesome.
I was actually going to say "it" since I wasn't sure of her gender, but I'm glad you pointed it out. Now I don't have to feel guilty about obsessing over a male cow.

You may now rest easy, obsessing over a female cow :)
Note: the designer of Clarus also designed LOTS of other icons for the original Mac--and for Windows 3... even the cards for the infamous (no offense to Windows' most usable app) Solitaire. You can still buy T-shirts from her with Clarus and other classic Mac icons (the Bomb, etc.):

I assume she never MEANT it to be cow-like, but it is :)
I thought the dogcow was still in Mac OS X as part of some laser printer panel or something, but I could be crazy. There's a widget though:

(I also just learned from Wikipedia that MS used the dogcow in PowerPoint!)
