I am not a graphic designer so I realize both suck so which one looks better?

Both look too similar to the Wordpress logo, to me.

hmm, personally i would scrap the gradient and the multi-coloured squiggly lines look too childish imo

I'd do just the opposite and remove the huge W and leave the rest as-is.

How about this instead? Sort of Tarantino/McDonalds vibe.
