So here's the report from system profiler:

Intel 6 Series Chipset:
Vendor: Intel
Product: 6 Series Chipset
Link Speed: 6 Gigabit
Negotiated Link Speed: 3 Gigabit
Description: AHCI Version 1.30 Supported

APPLE SSD SM128C:
Capacity: 121.33 GB (121,332,826,112 bytes)
Model: APPLE SSD SM128C
Revision: AXM09A1Q

So I have the quicker Samsung-made SSD, why is it not working at full 6 Gigabit?

Because it's a SATA II drive, not SATA III
