Except audiohijack captures the audio after it has been converted from its original digital encoding, then it converts it back to the target format you select. Depending on the original encoding, the final audio quality may suffer.
For Internet radio streams I use streamripper (shoutcast streams) or wget (straight mp3 streams). I'm not sure why I'd want to live with the restrictions of the iFill.

iFill (as I have tested in beta) is awesome - Audio Hijack is a great program too, but the point of iFill is to leave your iPod overnight filling it with internet radio streams - and having new music each day you take your iPod away with you - as far as I am aware Audio Hijack requires a number of different steps AND streaming programs would require more steps as well
This, once set up, is completely automated.

Innovation isn't always coming up with something new; it's also when you take an idea that has been done already but making it better. Apple does this a lot, and so does Griffin. In fact, Griffin is one of those companies that I can trust to release good products -- they put a lot of effort into the details and have pretty good customer service too.

Eventually. :p
(they have a habit of preannouncing products much earlier than they should, and sometimes releasing products late)
The iTalk is pretty good though.

too many restrictions... audio hijack captures any audio and lets me store it on my hard disk, xfer to itunes or ipod. none of these silly griffin restrictions.
i got it with roxio's boom box for $30 from buy.com.

Can I use this app to record NPR programs and then listen to them later?
I'd love to have an app like this -- I seem to remember reading about one, so please forgive the question; I can't imagine any search term that would return fewer than a million pages...

I like the idea. And it is great how they tried to handle the piracy issue. But with iPodRip (IIRC), would it not be possible to just rip the iPod back to the computer HDD? I am not asking from the standpoint of advocating piracy. I have used iPodRip to recover a mangled iTunes library on my computer from my relatively clean iPod.

Don't forget radio lover. That is a great product, but $15.

Sure, it's just a small hurdle. This kind of "soft" copy protection actually works pretty well, just as a knee-high fence will keep most people out of flower beds. I'd say that people are generally sheep, except for this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3938591.stm).

I agree. I am tired of all of us being considered criminals before the fact.
I know of iPod Rip from my need to restore my/our iTunes library when my ex had their HDD corrupted by some spyware/malware/virus. iPod Rip also saved time when I ended up with mass duplicates from a DVD back-up that I made after our first disaster; for I was able to take a "clean" copy of the songs on my iPod and recreate the iTunes library on the computer.
I was thinking outside the box. At 29gb of my own purchased music, I have no need to pirate music of an internet feed.
