ths what i would do.
1. plug in, let charge for 2 min, right before it goes to apple logo.
2. if it doesnt die on you, go into DFU mode.
press sleep for 3 sec
continue pressing sleep; press home for 10 sec
release sleep continue pressing home for 15 sec.
3. if the ipod does die on you, just plug into power source or just do if first to be safe
4. if that doesnt work, plug into combuter and see if itunes recognizes it. also see if you can charge for 1 min then unplug and seek what happens
5. still no answer, go into recovery mode by searching internet on how to do it, because i dont know how but i know it is useful. you can also call apple or go into one of their stores and go to the genius desk and give it to them and they will fix.
hope this helps
