M$ Intellimouse Explorer
Best thing M$ has ever done for the computing world, although I'm still nervous about somone hacking a security hole in my mouse.

No Mac, but I use a pretty basic 2-button/scroll wheel Logitech.
Don't really know why some people need more buttons than that.

I said "three-button w/scroll wheel" because the scroller is the third button.
To be more precise, it's a Microsoft Intellimouse Optical with two extra buttons on either side of the two primary ones.
And it's the evil red glow version.

I've got a standard logitech right now but I'm so drooling over their brand new wireless/optical/multifunction/rechargable mouse they just came out with. *drool*

Currently the Standard Apple pro mouse. At least until I get a review from someone using a Mac and a Razor Boomslang gaming mouse.

I have 2 mice plugged in permanence on my G4. I love the ergonomy of the Apple Pro mouse. Having the whole surface of the mouse to click gives you more freedom in how you can hold it. This in turn induces less stress on your hand. And that makes you learn keyboard shortcuts, which are much faster than right clicking on everything. But when I need a scroll wheel, I park my Pro mouse and pull my Logitech. This is my setup until Apple or someone else releases a one-button + wheel mouse. I rarely use the right click button.

Personally I hated the Pro mouse that came with my QuickSilver, I bought a Logitech Dual Optical mouse (4 button w/scrool) and it's MUCH better.

Apple ProMouse.
Why?
first, it looks beautiful. not the best in regards to functional, but beautiful.
second, it is free. well, why not?
a mouse with the ProMouse form factor and a scrollwheel which could be "pushed" down when not needed would be cool.
a one-button-mouse with a variable scroll wheel.
id like that too.

You know it amazes me that a company that prides itself on innovative design and ease of use insists on shipping a machine these days with early eighties mouse technology (mouse technology that sounds almost silly to say ;)). I think it's gone so far now because if Apple did decide to do a multiple button wheel mouse, that might, in some small way, admit, yes there are some things, in regards to ease of use, that a PC did better, first. At least the promouse is step up over the wrist wrecking puck that came with my original iMac.

I'm using the Logitech Cordless Mouseman (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&CRID=3&CONTENTID=4979&countryid=18&languageid=1). OSX drivers work perfectly, nice long battery life, three buttons and a scroll wheel. Ok, so iit looks fairly ugly, but it feels very comfortable.

Apple should make a one button Pro mouse with a scroll wheel that will double serve as right-click if pressed.

Intuos2 9x12 tablet with a 4 button mouse and scroll wheel, probably the best mouse I've ever used. Highly recommend it if you're doing graphics.

Gotta have the two button with scroll wheel! I believe in knowing your key short cuts but the right click is simply more efficient at times.

I like it. I've been trying to think of a way to simply hack a scroll wheel on to my pro mouse.
Also to those of you that hated the puc mouse. I did to at first so I bout an iCatch. It was a body that held the puck and gave it the shape and feel of a full size mouse. Eventually I decided to try to use it without the iCatch (I was gaming at the time and wanted a lighter feel). What I found is with a little time I learned to use the dimple in the button on the mouse to locate the top just like the bumps on the keyboard to locate. Also the puc mouse is so light that it is very fast and easy to use in games.

I Use a Logitech Dual Optical, I love the solid feel of this mouse. Microsoft feels a little loose.
The Puck mouse was ugly and terrible to use. What way is up?

I hope everyone realizes that most scroll wheels ARE buttons. I've had quite a few scroll wheel mice and they all were 3 buttons because of the scroll wheel. Just want to make sure everyone knows that when the vote.
On that note, do they make a 2 buttons with a scroll wheel that doesn't click?

I'm using a contour design UniMouse, which is 2 buttons and a scroll wheel. the mouse itself is really comfortable, good for photoshop's and certain games' precision

A really cool cordless trackman (logitech) and an even cooler griffin powermate! One on each side of the keys!

I say to you now: Drool On! ;)
I just bought that Logitech MX700 two weeks ago, and it is very nice.
I was looking for something wireless for some time, but always thought the color of Logitech was SOOO ugly and didn't fit with my Pro Keyboard and TFT 17'' Studio Display.
Until I saw this one.

Yeah!!! I'm with you ;)
As can be found above on this page, I just got me a Logitech MX700. But not because of the amount of buttons, but because it's wireless. And my experience is exactly the same as yours.
I can see the use in a right mouse button, because I use PC's at work and contextual menu's are very useful. But the Logitech ergonomics force you to hold the mouse in one way all the time, because otherwise you can't find the correct buttons to push quickly enough. The Pro Mouse you can just grab and click faster while looking at the screen.
Although a scrollwheel has its charms, I find myself holding the Logitech to tense while reading webpages. While with the Pro Mouse I used to browse long pages with [PAGE UP] and [PAGE DOWN] on the keyboard (very effective). Only reaching for the mouse when I need to move my cursor.
I think people are being to harsh on the Pro Mouse and the "1-button concept" in general.

I was in the market for a new mouse for my G4 10.2.1 box, but couldn't bring myself to contribute to the Wintel Cartel.
Then Logitech saved the day.
The thing is the f***ing coolest damn mouse.
'nuff said.

The best mouse for the price. It's optical, good drviers, a scroll wheel, feels right, glows an almost aqua blue, and has five buttons. Just can't say how good it is.:D

Well, for a mouse ... it's okay ... just so many buttons to push, I can't choose .
But let's not get all hyped up and mythical about it, it's just a thingy to help you operate your computer ... ;)
It was the  black/gray design that cought my eye in the first place. And I think it feels more solid than the Microsoft and Kensington ones

You know, Microsoft makes a cool blue version of their evil red optical mouse, and it's also wireless. And it's based on the Explorer, which has four extra buttons.
Clicking the MS scroll wheel will cause pages to scroll with just a mouse movement instead of rotating the wheel. This can be disabled, though, in the MS mouse control panel.

I won't say it's the best overall, but it's the best I've used.
It's sample rate is the same as corded opticals (GAMES!!!), whereas other cordlesses halve the rate. What really sent me over was the recharge station in the RF tranceiver - so simple it's brilliant.
Be aware, even though it's worth the price IMHO, that price is about $80.
Go the CDW and play with it.

I recently bought the Kensington Studio Mouse and wonder how I got along for 14 years using a one button mouse. It's just awesome (except for the 5 foot cord -- how un-Apple!). Right-clicking is necessary in OS X and very useful in Photoshop.
Kensington's software makes it easy to program your own functions. For example I set-up a chord (both buttons pushed together) to hide the foremost app and redefined a right-click in Chimera to function as a "back" click. It also allows you to set variable tracking speeds for fast and slow mouse movements which makes navigating a large screen easy while maintaining precision mousing.
Do yourself a favor and get a two-button mouse with a scroll wheel if you don't already have one. The Studio Mouse is a good choice--it would be even better if it was wireless.

I use a PC, but I used the same mouse with my mac. And that mouse is a Microsoft 2 wheel optical scroll mouse. The only microsoft product I have been completely satisfied with since I got it. :D
