The logic board of my beautiful 12" PB is dead. 🙁

Could I buy a 1.33 GHz board and fit it in to the old 867MHz case? I know it has a DVI instead of VGA, but I could live with a home-made hole if everything else matches, like cooling, screws etc.

Anybody knows if I could fit it in there?

You would need the right DC-DC board, modem and heatsink assembly.

I'm pretty sure that the board would fit, just not too sure about the video out connector, you may have to modify the case a little for that.

Thanks for answering!

Ok, so I would also need the dc-dc, modem and heatsink from the 1,33GHz model. Hmm, that makes it a lot tougher, its easy to find a motherboard, but the rest... damn. 🙁

Any idea where I can find those parts?

Apple charges a high premium on Mac service parts in order to intice users to purchase new machines. PBParts is also good about special ordering if you need something they don't have. Good luck! Taking a part a PowerBook G4 is no small task. 😱
