Hi

I own one of the first generation unibody macbooks (not pro). When in idle my CPU is running at ~1550Mhz. I was wondering if this behavior is normal? I was always under the impression that this particular CPU (Core 2 Duo) would be able to go as low as 800Mhz? I am using Lion.

Best
Pat

Mac like to keep there image, so they go halfway. They make it energy efficient by putting the MHz down, but will respond slightly quicker when suddenly a task is thrown at its face. Also, there may be some random processing going on (often with printer drivers) Check activity monitor for rogue processes.
