Hi guys,

This is a question to any developers out there.

There are HP printers that can print wirelessy from iOS devices (I have one that isn't airprint compatible but it uses a third party app created by HP) over the WLAN or via email addresses assigned to the printer, I know this isn't new news lol.

My question is that has anyone thought about, or is currently developing an app that is universal to all printers that utilises ports forwarding on routers

E.G. the printer is set up on a WLAN and an app that can print documents sends the document to print via the IP address at a specific port and the router sends the request to the printer, that way you could print via your WLAN even when you are not connected to it via remote access settings thus not having to shell out for a new printer
